CCTV Systems

CCTV remains at the forefront of any security system package. A well designed system can effectively help control risks, this can be further enhanced by the integration with other disciplines such as intruder alarms, access control and analytic systems. All of this helps to reduce running costs whilst increasing reliability and peace of mind. With the integration of both IP LAN and WAN infrastructures and CCTV technologies, software based control systems can give the client a much greater level of flexibility and control than on standard systems.

Monitored CCTV systems are more effective at reducing or preventing crime than comparable stand-alone systems. Remote monitoring of CCTV systems need not be cost prohibitive when network based transmission is utilised. Strategic positioning of external detection devices or video analytics will generate an alarm as soon as an intruder enters a restricted area. An audible challenge can then be made by the operator verbally via a speaker which in most cases is enough to halt the intrusion. Should further assistance be required, a keyholder or a mobile security response unit could be dispatched. By comparison, a stand-alone CCTV security surveillance system simply records footage for retrospective analysis and is a passive not a pro-active, crime prevention tool. If there is already a manned security presence on site, monitored CCTV not only supports them but demonstrates appropriate “duty of care” to the officer.

Acctive Systems can provide a complete CCTV package from survey/design through to, installation, commissioning, monitoring and ongoing maintenance. Additional benefits include technically trained engineers and 24/7/365 support services. Systems ranging from single camera to large-scale IP, multisite systems with feature such as people counting or object left/removed are available to suit all security requirements
